How We Pick Products
We don't have a testing lab, and we won't pretend otherwise. Here is exactly how every recommendation on Ergoluma is made:
- Manufacturer specs first. Key specifications (dimensions, weight capacity, height range, display panel, resolution, lumens, battery life — whatever the product category's core claims are) are verified against the brand's own published product pages. If the manufacturer doesn't publish it, we don't state it.
- Retailer listings second. Prices are verified at major US retailers and shown as exact numbers with the retailer named. Prices change; the retailer's own page always carries the live number.
- No guessing, ever. We never estimate prices, never convert currencies, and never invent a specification to fill a gap. If a spec or price can't be verified, the field says so honestly ("Not priced yet", "not published").
- No hands-on testing claims. We don't buy and assemble every desk, and we won't write as if we did. Our framing is "verified specs + price tiers." Pros and cons are derived from what the specs and verified customer-visible features imply — material choices, weight limits, height ranges, compatibility standards.
- Safety filtering. Products with an active US CPSC recall are excluded from our rankings. Region-locked variants priced in non-USD and commercial-only units are excluded from home-office rankings.
- Quality gates before publishing. Every post passes a pre-publish check: specs verified from two sources where possible, prices verified, images placed beside their paragraphs, no duplicate coverage, and an honest verdict even when it doesn't earn a commission.
